DCBD challenge #13
This week was a design challenge…. I like those much better than the color challenges so hopefully you will like what I came up with.
Here is our challenge sketch…..
and here is what I came up with….
For this week’s challenge, I decided to use a set I just got a couple of days ago. It is one of my new favorite sets! It is called Friends 24-7. I used the new circle cutter (and thanks to whoever suggested putting the rubber feet on it…it works like a charm now). I stamped everything in chocolate chip and I used the new Bella Bleu DSP paper. Isn’t it gorgeous? Anything in our catalog that has the word Bella in it is automatically on my wish list. I also used our new eyelet border punch. I hope you like it as much as I do. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think! Also, don’t forget to check out all of the other diva’s designs by clicking on their names under the coffee cups in my sidebar. Thanks for stopping by.
New Blog Candy!
Hey everyone!
Here is some more blog candy for you! This week I am giving away the hostess set Punches Three plus an adorable accordion box with Fresh Cuts notes inside. All you have to do to enter is post a comment on my blog this week, and on Sunday I will randomly pick a winner. Take a look…..

Polished stone technique
Here is another card from my shoebox swap the other day. This one was done by my friend Colleen. I hadn’t done the polished stone technique in quite a while so it was fun to try it again. For those of you who don’t know what that is, you need a piece of glossy white cardstock, cottonballs, alcohol and ink refills. You take the cotton ball and get it wet on one side with the alcohol and then drop about 2-3 drops of each refill color onto it. For this one, we used baja breeze, pacific point and the silver. Then just dab it all over the glossy cardstock…do not rub it on…just dab it. The ink will start to run and spread and it looks really cool (like marble). If you are using any of the metallic inks like gold or silver, just spray a little hairspray or acrylic sealer on it when you finish to set the ink. There is also a step by step tutorial on splitcoast here but I did mine slightly different. I actually put the metallic ink on the cottonball instead of on the paper.
Love you much….
I absolutely love this Love You Much set and matching Candy Lane paper. It was one of the best specials Stampin Up has ever offered. I hope they do more of these bundles again soon. This sample uses the new eyelet border punch. I also covered the birds in the patterned paper.
Check out this cute card made with punches!
I had a group of demos over the other day for a shoebox swap and this was one of our projects that we got to make. My friend and downline Sue Bjorgaard did this one for her project. I just thought it was so cute. It is pretty much made with all punches. The feet are the round tab punch, the bodies are the oval punches, the eye area is the heart punch, the hands are the small oval punch and you cut it in half lengthwise. The head is the 1 3/8 circle punch, and the beak is the small oval also. It is a little time consuming to put together but so adorable!
