February stamp camp!

This month we will be using the Guest Book Simply Scrappin Kit to create a beautiful box that holds 9 cards and 4 notecards. My friend Vita Padalino shared the box idea with me and then I created the rest to go inside of it.  This class is  for local customers only in the Chesapeake/ Va Beach area. I do not have a tutorial created for long distance customers (sorry). Cost of the class is $25 and includes half of a simply Scrappin kit plus additional cardstock, envelopes and ribbon. Click on my calendar at the top of the screen to check out the dates and times.

You do not want to miss this class. The cards are all occasion. I did some birthday and some congratulations and some other ones but I will have several sentiments to choose from.

Each class is limited to 5 people so you can have plenty of room to work and play. You must bring your paper cutters to class with you. I will cut and score the box for you , but you will do the rest. It is good practice in case you want to make more of these kits at home.

It’s snowing in Chesapeake!

To all my friends in the VA Beach / Chesapeake area who are enjoying the first real snow in many years, try this treat….

Snow Cream!

Mix 1 big bowl fresh snow

1-2 cans condensed milk

about 2Tbsp of sugar and

a Tbsp of vanilla.

Stir and taste…..modify a little if necessary. It really depends on how big your bowl of snow is as to the measurements of the other ingredients. I used a mixing bowl for mine. It also depends on how wet the snow is. Dryer snow will need more liquid.

Enjoy. I love it. It takes like homemade ice cream.

Chicken Pot Pie!

I made this chicken pot pie last night and it was so good I thought I would share the recipe…..

The original recipe came from Rachael Ray but I modified it to make it easier.

Chicken Pot Pie!

Ingredients

  • 1 rotisserie chicken -take meat off the bone.
  • 1  onion chopped
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (EVOO)
  • 1/2 pound button mushrooms, chopped
  • 2 big carrots, chopped
  • 3 ribs celery, chopped
  • Salt and ground black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 box pie dough ( I used Pillsbury in the red box)

Preparation:

Pre-heat oven to 375ºF.

place a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat with 2 tablespoons of EVOO. Add chopped onion, mushrooms, carrots, celery to the pan, season with salt and pepper, and cover. Cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, 7-8 minutes. While the veggies are cooking, remove the chicken breast meat from the bones and shred. I did put a little dark meat in there too.

When the veggies are tender, scoot them over to the side of the pan and add the butter to the center of the pot. Once butter has melted, add the flour and cook for about a minute. Whisk in white wine, milk, chicken stock  Bring up to a simmer then add the peas and shredded chicken. Bring back up to a simmer, season with salt and pepper, and cook until the sauce has thickened, 2-3 minutes.

Pour into a pie crust ( I used Pillsbury in the red box). Then top with other pie crust. Make a few slits in the dough to allow steam to escape,

Bake the pot pie until the filling is bubbling and the crust is golden brown, about 30 minutes. Serve.

Just can’t get enough of Vintage Vogue

This gorgeous card was made by my upline Faith for one of my swaps. I love the red and the kraft together. You could use this one as a Valentine card or an "anytime you want to say I love you" card.  I just love it.

Sweet Pea Stitched Flowers…oh so soft

My good friend Mary Anne Grimmer made this card for a swap I hosted.  I just love these sweet little flowers. You can find them in our New Occasions mini on pg 32. She also braided the new satin ribbon from pg 27. The background paper is the new Shades of Spring on pg 25 and the pink is done with our new Polka Dot embossing folder found on pg 35. All of these items are in the new Occasions mini! If you did not get one in the mail from me, please stop by and pick one up. I have plenty available and I would love to see you. I hope you are having a great day!

Fox and Friends

This adorable card was made by one of my fantastic downline, Sandy Alexander. I think this is such a cute baby card. She also used the Little Angel set for the sentiment. The background is done with our new Polka Dot embossing folder. I love our embossing folders. You must check them out! Most of these items can be found in our Occasions mini catalog.

More pics from Leadership

I went to my upline's meeting last night and had to do a little speech on how much fun Leadership was and for me, the best part is always seeing my friends from all over the country. These are pictures from our last night together at Leadership. We were all bummed about going home because we had so much fun all week (plus we were all going home to freezing cold weather after enjoying 70's in Phoenix). A bunch of us went to Uno's Pizza for dinner and ended up staying for hours just talking. The weather was so nice we ate outside.

Here are my friends Lisa Fast and Dena Rekow. Lisa is from South Dakota and said it was like 30 below zero where she lived so they closed the whole state down because it was too dangerous to go outside. I can't even imagine. I am not a cold weather person. I want to live in Florida one day so it is warm most of the year.

Here are Tami White, her mom and her downline and my awesome roomie Terri.

Here are Pam, me and Tami.

Ok, I have to throw in something stamped here. This is a really cool box that Shelli decorated. Of course if Shelli made it, it is gorgeous!  I love the way she makes everything shabby chic (vintage) looking.
