Clearly For you

This is a card I made a while back using the Clearly for you set. I am so bummed this set is leaving in a few days. It is one of my favorites from the Occasions mini. I just love it. It is so versatile to use and goes great with our Simply Adorned line of charms. I used the tulip frame embossing folder and the newsprint designer paper also.

Pretty Paisley Petals paper….

Isn't this paper absolutely gorgeous? I think it is my all time favorite. Every sheet in the pack is beautiful. Stampin Up is giving us an exclusive sneak peek this month by letting us purchase this paper and the Four Frames stamp set which are not available until July when our new main catalog comes out. I got the inspiration for this card from one of my downline (Brenda Turner). She made a similar card for our meeting last month. This is just one of the cards we are making at this month's stamp camp.

For the flower I used 2 of the large scallop punches and 1 small one. I spritzed them with water and crumpled them up and then unfolded them to give them a distressed look. Then I put an antique brad in the middle and spritzed them with the white smooch mixed with alcohol spray I made myself.

Strength and Hope

A few weeks ago I went to visit my good friend Kimberly Van Diepen and we made this card together.  I love stamping with her because she can come up with a gorgeous card right off the top of her head.  What I wouldn't give for that talent. I showed her how to die the flowers and she pretty much did the rest of the card (she is definitely the more creative one!) I love this new stamp set which is in the Stampin Up Summer mini catalog. Stampin Up will donate $2 from the sale of each set to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. So, you will not only get a gorgeous stamp set, but you will also be making a donation to a worthy cause.

Here is a close up of the key elements. We used the ribbon rosettes and you put them in a little plastic container filled about half way with water and about 5 drops of the reinker color of your choice. For this one, we used the blushing bride reinker. Just drop it in for a few seconds and then let it dry face up on a paper towel for about 30 minutes. The butterfly is done with the rock and roll technique. We stamped it in blushing bride and then rolled the edges n peach parfait. The background paper is the new Paisley Petals which is on special this month. We added a little shimmer spray to the finished card to give it that extra wow factor.

Check out this Masterpiece….

My daughter Lindsey is a high school senior this year and she is taking all AP classes. She loves her teachers and wanted to make a birthday card for her AP English teacher. She wanted to make it big enough so the whole class could sign it so we used a whole sheet of cardstock folded in half. Then  we sat down and created this masterpiece. She pretty much did it herself with a few suggestions from me.  She used the Baroque Motif set for the background.

If you look closely at the flowers, you can see the white shimmer paint we sponged on them to give that faux pearl look. The flowers are from the Fun Flowers die in the Occasions mini.

Super Easy Little Treat

I was trying to come up with a cute and simple little treat idea and I noticed I had all of these mini Hershey bars left over from something else I made. So, I decided to wrap them in that gorgeous Springtime Vintage paper and tie with some seam binding ribbon and a little tag. The sentiment if from You're a Gem in the Occasions mini. This is a great way to use up your leftover designer papers when they retire. It only takes a little piece to wrap it around the candy bar. These are great to just keep in your purse and hand out to anyone to brighten their day.

Build a Blossom Fish

This adorable card was created by one of my very talented customers (Rebecca Weil). She used the Build a Blossom stamp set and the matching Blossom Petals punch both located on pg 12 of the Stampin Up Occasions mini. She brought it to class to show everyone the other day and I just thought it was so cute! She said she came up with the fish idea herself so I was very impressed.

Here is a close up of the fish. All of this can be punched out so no cutting is required!

April Stamp Camp!

Today in Chesapeake, it was so gorgeous outside, I decided that I had to postpone my stamping plans to go lay out in the sun. It felt so good but now I am burnt to a crisp! It will be tan in a couple days but right now my skin is sizzling.  My daughter Lindsey laid out with me and she just turned brown…..it isn't fair. I meant to take some pictures of her out there but I forgot. I am sure we will have many more days like this.

Anyway, I finally got back to stamping and finished my projects for this month's stamp camp. This month I am featuring the Sneak Peek Special…..the Paisley petals designer papers and the four frames stamp set that will be in our upcoming Idea Book and Catalog.

This first picture is of the folder that the cards all go in….isn't it pretty?? This paper is just GORGEOUS!

This next one is the inside of the folder. I have 2 cards on either side. I will stick some envelopes in there too.

Here is the folder (top left) and the 4 cards we are making. If you are local to the Chesapeake/ Va Beach/ Norfolk area, and would like to come to this or any other class, please email me! If you click on my calendar at the top of the page, you can see when all of the classes are offered. Or, if you and some friends would like a private class of your own, that would be great too! Cost of this class is $20 or if you would like to purchase the whole set already completed, it is $25. If you are out of town and would like this class set, add an additional $5 for shipping. All complete sets for this class will be ready for pick up or shipping at the end of the month.

Pretty Petal Cone

This is a fun little holder we made in my stamp clubs last month using the petal cone die. I glued 2 of them together using sticky strip and then cut the scallop half circles out of  the springtime vintage designer paper that is in the Occasions mini.  These make perfect little gifts to put candy or a piece of jewelry in.

Here is a close up of the front of it. I used the Clearly for you stamp set background stamp in crumb cake to put behind the "for you".  Then I added a mini rosette to the front.
