Here is another card I made using the Bloom With Hope hostess set from the new Stampin Up catalog. I kind of cheated on the coloring for this one. I stamped the flower in Blackberry Bliss (one of the new In Colors) and then let it sit for about 5 minutes and then took an aquapainter and just used the ink from the outline of the flower and just blended it all around. I didn’t add any ink to it. The pads are pretty juicy so there is enough ink from the lines to blend around. You do need to let it sit for a few minutes though because I tried coloring it right away and it was really dark. For the center, I just colored it in with the Hello Honey marker.
The New Hostess Set Bloom With Hope is probably my favorite set in the new catalog. I absolutely love it! It has so many gorgeous flowers in it. For this one, I used the faux tile technique. I scored the white piece at 1 inch intervals in both directions (original size is 4×5 inches). Then I stamped the flowers in Blackberry Bliss ink (one of the new In colors). I then added some speckles with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. Then I tied some of the new luscious blackberry bliss ribbon and added the sentiment. Super duper easy.
Just wanted to post a note to say sorry I have been missing the last couple of weeks. I went in for a routine hysterectomy and ended up staying in the hospital for over a week. I had some major complications, but now I am feeling so much better and hope to start posting to my blog again in the next couple of days.
