Here is part 2 of my featured demo of the month post. This month I am showcasing my downline Liz Velazquez . She made so many cute things I wanted to show them all. This first project opens up and holds a gift card inside…..really adorable!

This card is so cool. I didn't know how she did it so she had to explain it to me. She used melted crayons (touch the tip of the crayon to a hot iron) and then rubbed it on the glossy cardstock. Here is a tutorial if you want to see how it is done. I will have to try that one sometime! Use a craft iron though so you don't mess up your good one!

This is one of our adorable mini file envelopes. I LOVE these and I am so bummed they are retiring! Liz decorated it with a tropical look and more Thoroughly Modern designer paper. This is the front view.

This is the back view. More flowers and paper….

Here is what it looks like inside with all the dividers….

This last project is a 2-for 1 special. You get a cute box, then when you open it up……

There is a beautiful butterfly pin inside. How cool is that?

Here is a close up of the pretty pin. She made it by layering several sheets of paper together and then gluing them with modge podge to make it extra thick and sturdy. I love it! Thanks Liz for making such awesome projects! You did a great job! To see more of Liz's projects, scroll back a few days to part 1.
I just love Hydrangeas!

I think this new stamp set "Because I Care" is my favorite one in the new catalog. It is a level 1 hostess set so you can get it for FREE just by placing an order! For this card, I used the En Francais background in marina mist on marina mist cardstock and layered that onto the concord crush cardstock. For the flower, I inked up the flower part in marina mist and then took the concord crush marker and tapped it all over, colored the stem in pear pizzazz marker and then stamped it onto the top note paper.

Great Father’s Day card

My friend Lorrie made this cute Father's Day card for a swap I participated in recently. It is so cute. I am sure there is a pattern somewhere but I don't know where so if any of you find one let me know and I will add it to this post.

Here is what it looks like when you open the vest part up.

Then if you flip the shirt part up, there is a little cello bag attached inside to hold a gift card! How cute is that? It is so much cuter in person. I wish you could see it!

Because I Care….

I finally had a chance to play with my new stamps today! Have you seen the new hostess stamp set called Because I Care? It is sooooo gorgeous! If you haven't seen it, here is a sneak peek of it on this card I made. I created this one for my downline swap this week. I used the new embossing folder called Vintage Wallpaper. First I cut out the marina mist paper with the top note die and then I ran it through again inside the embossing folder and then I cut it in half lengthwise and trimmed it. THis will be in the new Stampin UP catalog coming out July 1. I can hardly wait! The hydrangea is colored with all new markers. I colored the leaves in Pear Pizzazz, the flower is colored in Marina Mist and then I took the Concord Crush marker and just tapped it all over the blue part. Then I turned the stamp over and pressed it to the paper. So, it was all colored directly onto the stamp itself. The sentiment is also from the Because I Care stamp set. That little skinny ribbon is also new in the catalog.

Glassine bags are going, going, almost gone…..

This month I finally had a chance to show off our new glassine bags from the Stampin Up Occasions mini pg 19. They are so cute and versatile and only $6.50 for 25 of them. This was one of my stamp club projects. We ran the bags through the big shot first using the Manhattan Flower embossing folder and then we stamped the same flower from Fifth Avenue Floral onto white cardstock, cut it out and sponged it with melon mambo ink. Inside I put a quarter sheet of melon mambo cardstock to hide the treat (M&M's) and to make the embossed flowers pop. We closed it using the polka dot ribbon and attached the flower with linen thread. This is a really quick and easy gift idea and you can put anything you want inside the bags.

Check out this cool purse!

One of my friends and downline (Melissa Carr) made me this adorable purse! Isn't that so sweet!! I just love it! Melissa was my featured demo of the month this month and she is such a great seamstress. She is whipping these purses out like crazy.
Featured demo of the month part 2
Here is part 2 of my featured demonstrator of the month (Melissa Carr).

This first project is a tea tin…..how cute is that! It is filled with tea bags and she even decorated the spoon with butterflies.

Here is a view from the top….

Melissa made this card with the Spring Song set from pg 102 in the big Stampin Up idea book and catalog.

This is a triangle box she made using the scallop envelope die in the Big Shot. The flowers are also from a big shot embosslit die.

Here is a view from the top.

This card was made with the Fifth Avenue Floral set. Melissa embossed these flowers and then colored them using the aquapainter and refill technique. It came out so pretty.

This last one is a scrapbook page of Melissa's son. I love the colors in this one.

Each month I am showcasing one of my talented downline as a "featured demo of the month" and this month it is Melissa Carr!
She has only been a demonstrator for a short while but already she is doing some fantastic things including those quilt bags. She has made some unbelievable bags that I have already shown on my blog. Here are a few of her other creative projects….

She brought all of these to our meeting last night and this was definitely my favorite one! I just loved these coasters and the box she made to put them in. She has made a ton of them for gifts and I told her she needs to sell them at craft shows.

She stamped the coasters in black stazon and then colored them using a blender pen and the craft inks. THen she baked them at 350 for 20 minutes and sprayed them with acrylic sealer. I think they came out fantastic! Here are directions for the box
This is for a set of 4×4 inch coasters with felt feet.
Cut CS 7 ½ x 8 ¾
With 8 ¾ in. side against the top of score pad, score 3 ½ in. from each side.
With 7 ½ in. side against the top of score pad, score 1 ¾ in. from each side.

This is a card made out of the clear window sheets that are in our catalog. I loved this card too.

THis card reminded me of the string art projects my daughter used to make all the time. I thought it was so cool looking. That is the sweet pea designer paper in the back.

I thought this card was just gorgeous and very manly looking. It looks like cracked glass but she made it using scotch tape! If you look closely at the clock, you can see the little pieces of tape all over it and then you sponge it with creamy caramel on top. How cool is that. I will post the rest of Melissa's projects in a couple days. Please leave a comment and let Melissa know what you think.
Cute Easter bag

This is an adorable Easter bag that my downline Niccole Marshall did at one of her recent classes. I love going to my downline's classes to see what cute things they have been making. It is fun to be the student sometimes and not the teacher. Anyway, this cute Easter project is a snap to make. You simply punch out the box using the Fancy Favor bag die in the Stampin Up Big Shot machine! If you do not have a Big Shot, you are totally missing out on these cool ideas. You can get one from me today by clicking on the shop now button in my sidebar or email me your order. The bunny is made from all Stampin Up circle and oval punches. The background paper is our Sweet Pea designer slab.

Here is a close up of the bunny face . It is the small and large oval, the 1 3/4 circle, 1/2 inch circles and 1/4 inch circles.

Chocolate chip and sage shadow…great combo

I don't know why I don't use this To the Nines designer paper more often. It is so pretty. I just love the chocolate chip and sage shadow combo. For this card, I used the big shot to texture the top part and then I used the pinking hearts border punch for the center piece. I also used the fancy flower punch and layered that to give it a vintage look.

Here is a close up of the flower. I did stamp the leaves from Le Jardin Botanique on them also and crumpled the up to give it more texture. I love the corduroy brads too. They look great in the center of any flower.
