Gift ideas
« Previous Entries Next Entries »More stamp camp sneak peeks…..

Ok everyone, here are 2 more projects we will be doing at stamp camp next weekend. The first one is a giant candy bar with a gift card envelope on the front. One of my downline (Kristi Brock) came up with this idea for Christmas and I just changed it to Valentine's Day.

The second project is a Ghirardelli Chocolate holder. This pattern came from Kimberly Morris. I used the new luscious Valentine paper from the Occasions mini. To make this, all you do is take a 3×8 piece of cardstock and score it at 3-7/8" and at 4-1/8". Then on one end, push your word window punch in as far as it will go and punch, then move it a smidge to the left and punch and a smidge to the right and punch. The window is just a little too small to fit the chocolate with just one punch so you have to make it wider.

Stamp Camp Sneak Peek!!

Next weekend I am having my January stamp camp classes so here is a sneak peek at a couple of the projects. One of my friends gave me a similar notebook a while back so I traced the pattern from that. I have seen the pattern on several different blogs though. This is made with our THoroughly Modern folders. Once you figure out how to cut it, they are easy to make.

Here is a close up of the pretties kit flower and the scallop circle.

Here is a view of the inside of the folder. You could also tuck a pen inside with velcro.

When you cut the folders to make the notebook, you are left with about a 3 1/2 inch strip and I started to throw these away and then I thought there had to be something I could make them so I made these little post it note holders. I put a half of a postit pad in each one so it wasn't too thick. Super quick and easy project.

And More Quilt Purses!

Here are the 2nd batch of purses that I made. I love this brown fabric. It is so yummy! I haven't tried washing any of these yet to get that shabby chic look but I might try it after I get back from Leadership. This is the bag I am taking to Leadership in case any of you see me there. THese are so easy to make with the Stampin Up Big SHot! It goes through 8 layers of fabric at a time.

Here are a couple of the 2×2 size ones.

More Quilt Purses!

Ok, I am addicted to making these quilt bags. I just wish I had a room that I could keep my sewing machine up in because it is taking over my stamp room! I made a larger bag (in top photo) that is 3 x 3 squares on each side and then the regular size of 2 x 3 squares on each side.

I cut out all of the scalloped squares using the Stampin UP big shot! I started making the flower pins (also made using the Big Shot die cutting machine) to go on the front too. I think they really make it look cute.

This one is a 2×2 size I made for a good friend of mine. I hope she likes it!

THis is a sneak peek of what I am going to show you tomorrow!! I made some brown ones that are just so yummy!
Big Shot Quilt Purses! Oh my!
Today my friend Sam came over and showed me how to make those quilt purses that Angie Juda posted a while back. Oh my gosh!!! They are so much fun to make! I had so much fun that I made 3 of them today and I am going back to the fabric store tomorrow so I can make more! They are pretty easy after you make one especially if you have a helper.

This is my first one and after I finished I realized I had put 3 of the same pattern in a row around the side but that is ok.

The next one I made for a good friend of mine. I hope she loves it! The fabric is the same on both of these but I took one picture with the flash and one without and the 2nd picture is actually more true to color. The colors were close to our regal rose and sage shadow. I used the Stampin Up ribbon for the handles. It is way easier than making the handles. I wanted to put flowers on them but I ran out of fabric so if I can get more of the same I will attempt that tomorrow. We cut all of the scallop squares out with the Big Shot and then made little mini quilts out of each square and sewed them together. They look so much cuter in person! I wish you all could see them.

My friend Sam made this one for me just because she is a sweetheart. She made it for me to take to Leadership to put my swaps in. How cool is that?
Build a Bear Calendar Gift

This adorable calendar frame gift idea is from my friend Lorrie. This was her project at one of our recent shoebox swaps. I love the Christmas Build a Bear girl. It is made on a metal frame that came from Target and the bear has a magnet on the back of it so you can stick her anywhere. The calendars are made on the computer or you can use those ones from vippies.com. Paper is Merry Moments DSP.

Here is a side view of it.

M&M Matchbook treat video tutorial.
Hey stampers,
It is time for another video with me today. Don't laugh but about halfway through taping, the kitchen timer goes off and just keeps beeping. I was making banana bread and didn't realize that it was almost done when I started taping this for the 4th time. I didn't have time to film it all over again from the beginning so I just kept on going so just ignore that beeping. It is not your mind playing tricks on you. One of these days I will master the editing with stopping and starting. Anyway, I hope you like this video.
Here are the measurements….
kraft 3 x 8 1/2, scored at 3 3/4 and 7 3/4
christmas cocoa 3 1/2 x 2 3/4 , and 1 x 7

Way cool Christmas gift idea!

One of my very talented downline, Sandy Alexander, showed me this awesome Christmas gift idea. She took one of our skinny tins that are on our clearance rack right now and turned it into a gift tag holder. She made little pockets on the inside to hold a bunch of tags. I just thought this was so cute!

A few more recipes…..

This first one was made by one of my customers, Kim Andrews. Nice job Kim! These rolls are super good too. I sometimes substitute Pillsbury cinnamon rolls for the biscuits and make them pretty much the same way except I pour melted butter (about 1/2 stick) on them before they go in the oven and then use the icing that comes with it on top when they come out. You will be in a sugar coma all day.

This one was made by another customer, Kathie Espinoza. She did a great job on this one too.

This last one was made by one of my downline, Mona Bleecker. These rolls sound yummy too.
Christmas recipes anyone?

Here are some more of my fabulous recipe swaps! I think these all were so fabulous! II can't wait to try some of these recipes. This one was made by my friend Gina Dygert. SHe made the gingerbread man out of punches! How cute is that? The holly leaves are also done with punches. I think it is the oval punch and then you take it and punch out little arcs around the edge using the oval punch again.

This one is mine! I actually got this recipe from my friend Cyndi a few years ago and I have been making it ever since. It is great. I love Christmas because I make all of these good treats that I never have all year long. It is like Edy's peppermint ice cream! That is one of my favorites but you can only get it during November and December if you are lucky. Our grocery store sells out of it as soon as they get it in. That and egg nog should be available year round!

This one was made by my friend Norma Jones. She is the one who did that stromboli one a couple days back too. Her snowman is also made out of punches. How do people come up with these ideas?? Maybe if I had more time, I could too!
I make a cookie similar to this but we call them Mexican wedding cookies. They are a favorite!
