Star of Light Gift Card Holder

Hey everyone!

Today I am going to show you how to make this super easy gift card holder using a regular envelope! I made this about 2 weeks ago but it has taken me this long to make the video and post these pictures. I never imagined that making a video and uploading it would be so time consuming. I wish I had magical powers to just blink my eyes and make it happen by itself. If only I had about 10 more hours in a day to get everything done on my To-do list. I am sure many of you can relate to that, especially at this time of year.

Watch the video to see step by step instructions. I used the Star of Light framelit and the Fancy Frost designer paper for the front. The snowflake inside and the Surprise are from the Tin of Tags stamp set. You can find all of these products in the Stampin Up Holiday mini.  If you would like to purchase the products shown here or any other Stampin Up products, just click on the shopping cart to the right.

Christmas Gift Ideas!

Hey everyone!

Today I am sharing the projects I am doing in my class tomorrow. We are making a gorgeous framed art piece, a caramel corn gift bag and clear treat box filled with candy. Cost of the class is $20 and includes all of your supplies including the frame. The framed art uses the Sheltering Tree stamp set and sponging. I also used the copper foil as a background piece. The leaves and matching framelits can be found in the big catalog. For the treat box, I used the Christmas Magic stamp set from the Holiday mini.

I Survived the Hurricane!

Hi Everyone!

What a crazy couple of days! The weathermen here on the east coast of  VA told us we were in the clear and might get a little rain from hurricane Matthew, but boy were they wrong! I guess the path changed at the last minute and came up farther north and more inland than expected and we got over 15 inches of rain in just a few hours and winds up to 80 mph! Most of us weren’t really ready for that since they pretty much said it was going to make a U-turn and head back south again.  Gotta love those weathermen. Luckily, I had already moved my patio furniture in a few days ago. I didn’t have much damage except for a few tree limbs down and a swimming pool full of leaves but I have seen lots of flooding in our area and lots of trees down and power outages. They had to cancel our church services today because of no power. Luckily I could watch good old Joel Osteen this morning to get my worship on.

So, I hope and pray that all of who were in the path of Hurricane Matthew this week are ok. I am glad that he is gone!

Now let’s get to a stamping project….

So this card really captures how I feel today….thankful, grateful, and blessed because I am alive and well and survived the storm with minimal damage. We all go through storms in life. They say you are either going into a storm, you are in a storm or you are coming out of storm in your life. I feel so blessed because I feel like I have made it through so many storms in my life and because of God, I am made stronger. No one likes going through the storms but just know that a brighter tomorrow is coming soon. It will get better. And no matter how bad your storm may be, I can bet there is someone who is going through something way worse. So, be thankful for what you have and thank God everyday for the blessings in life. You never know what tomorrow may bring but keep the faith that it will all work out.  Have a blessed day!

For this card, I used the Petals and Paisleys Designer paper, the Paisleys and Posies stamp set, the Paisley Framelit dies,  and the ribbon from the ribbon trio pack…all can be found on pg 47 in the Stampin Up Holiday mini.

It’s Snowing!

Hey everyone,

It’s snowing! Well, not really….it’s really raining as the outer bands of Hurricane Matthew touch VA, but my card is snowing!

I combined 2 different stamp sets to create this beautiful snowflake card. I stamped the larger snowflake from Frosted Medallions (pg 37 in the Holiday mini) using bermuda bay ink and then I stamped the smaller snowflake from the Tin of Tags set (pg 33 in the Holiday min) using rich razzleberry ink. I sponged a little pool party in the center. Then I stamped the gorgeous grunge speckle stamp all over in bermuda bay too. I added the rhinestones for a little sparkle. Hope you like it.

It’s beginning to Look a lot like Christmas!

photo 2

I recently had my annual Christmas card stamp a stack and this was one of the cards we made.  I got this idea from my friend Michelle who created the original sample. For this card, I used cherry cobbler, crumb cake  and garden green cardstock plus the Under the Tree specialty designer paper found in the Stampin Up Holiday mini.  I also used the Festival of Trees bundle for the stamp set and matching punch.  The garden green piece is embossed with the On Point Embossing Folder. This is a super easy card to make multiple of. Don’t forget to top your trees with a gold star too!

More Display Samples from Convention

Here are a few more display samples from convention. I know it seems like forever since I posted, but I am really trying to do better.

Of course Lovely As a Tree will never go out of style. I heard Shelli say one time that this is the #1 selling stamp set of all time.

Here is a Christmas sample for you!  Easy way to dress up a plain bag.

A Day with Susan!

Every year when I go to Founder's Circle I get to spend a day with my friend Susan Adams and several other girls. It is always such a treat because Susan is such an amazing stamper and quilter. She has her own quilting machine! Her stamp room is incredible. I wish I could just move in with her. You can literally stay all day and not see everything.

This is one of the many displays she has out. I loved this Christmas stocking banner. She made it with the Big Shot stocking die and felt material. You can either sew the edges or use a hot glue gun. Then hang it from a piece of our striped grosgrain ribbon.

Here is a close up of one of the stockings. The alphabet is also a set of Big Shot dies. Sprinkle a little glitter on top to make it sparkle.

This version is made out of cardstock. Same basic concept just with paper instead of the fabric. No sewing involved! These are attached to the ribbon using twist ties. How clever!

This one is a placemat that Susan decorated using our Stampin Up Holly Berry Bouquet fabric found on pg  22 in the Holiday mini.
