Painted Harvest Framed Art

Hey Everyone,
I recently held a Painted Harvest framed art class and here is the project that we made.

I saw a card on Pinterest using these colors and absolutely loved it. They are wisteria wonder, elegant eggplant and soft suede. I also used a little bit of crumb cake and sahara sand for background stamps and sponging.

I used several stamp sets, including painted harvest, dragonfly dreams, timeless textures, ribbon of courage, butterfly basics, sheet music and touches of texture.

I bought the 8×10 shadowbox frames from Michaels online. There are 3 in a pack for $30 but they go on sale for half price all the time, so they come out to about $5 a piece. The frame was included in the class.

Here are the measurements

crumb cake  8×10

wisteria wonder 6 1/2 x 8 1/2

soft suede 4×6

vanilla 3 1/2 x 5 1/2

small pieces:

soft suede 2×3 (3 of these)

vanilla 1 3/4 x 2 3/4 (3 of these)

I also used scraps of vanilla for the cutout pieces.

I sponged all of the smaller pieces with crumb cake and wisteria wonder.

Carols of Christmas Z-Fold Card

Hey everyone!

I finally had a chance to make another video. I wasn’t really happy with this one at the beginning, but once I get started it goes pretty well. I just need a little more practice.

But you will love the card I made in the video! It is so pretty.

More details below the video.

If you are viewing this in an email, please click on the link to see the video.

Here is the front of the card. I love this color combo together. It is pool party and tranquil tide. I used the Delightful Daisy and Fresh Florals designer papers on this card too.

Here are the measurements….

Pool Party 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2

Delightful daisy piece 2 1/2 x 4

Fresh Florals piece 4 x 5 1/4

Tranquil Tide 2 3/4 x 2 3/4

White 2 3/4 x 2 3/4, cut out using the stitched framelits

Here is a view from above the card….see how it looks like a Z?

I die cut the trees using the Card Front Builder thinlits. I used the dazzling diamonds glimmer paper and the tranquil tide cardstock.

Star of Light Gift Card Holder

Hey everyone!

Today I am going to show you how to make this super easy gift card holder using a regular envelope! I made this about 2 weeks ago but it has taken me this long to make the video and post these pictures. I never imagined that making a video and uploading it would be so time consuming. I wish I had magical powers to just blink my eyes and make it happen by itself. If only I had about 10 more hours in a day to get everything done on my To-do list. I am sure many of you can relate to that, especially at this time of year.

Watch the video to see step by step instructions. I used the Star of Light framelit and the Fancy Frost designer paper for the front. The snowflake inside and the Surprise are from the Tin of Tags stamp set. You can find all of these products in the Stampin Up Holiday mini.  If you would like to purchase the products shown here or any other Stampin Up products, just click on the shopping cart to the right.

Christmas Gift Ideas!

Hey everyone!

Today I am sharing the projects I am doing in my class tomorrow. We are making a gorgeous framed art piece, a caramel corn gift bag and clear treat box filled with candy. Cost of the class is $20 and includes all of your supplies including the frame. The framed art uses the Sheltering Tree stamp set and sponging. I also used the copper foil as a background piece. The leaves and matching framelits can be found in the big catalog. For the treat box, I used the Christmas Magic stamp set from the Holiday mini.

I Survived the Hurricane!

Hi Everyone!

What a crazy couple of days! The weathermen here on the east coast of  VA told us we were in the clear and might get a little rain from hurricane Matthew, but boy were they wrong! I guess the path changed at the last minute and came up farther north and more inland than expected and we got over 15 inches of rain in just a few hours and winds up to 80 mph! Most of us weren’t really ready for that since they pretty much said it was going to make a U-turn and head back south again.  Gotta love those weathermen. Luckily, I had already moved my patio furniture in a few days ago. I didn’t have much damage except for a few tree limbs down and a swimming pool full of leaves but I have seen lots of flooding in our area and lots of trees down and power outages. They had to cancel our church services today because of no power. Luckily I could watch good old Joel Osteen this morning to get my worship on.

So, I hope and pray that all of who were in the path of Hurricane Matthew this week are ok. I am glad that he is gone!

Now let’s get to a stamping project….

blessed

So this card really captures how I feel today….thankful, grateful, and blessed because I am alive and well and survived the storm with minimal damage. We all go through storms in life. They say you are either going into a storm, you are in a storm or you are coming out of storm in your life. I feel so blessed because I feel like I have made it through so many storms in my life and because of God, I am made stronger. No one likes going through the storms but just know that a brighter tomorrow is coming soon. It will get better. And no matter how bad your storm may be, I can bet there is someone who is going through something way worse. So, be thankful for what you have and thank God everyday for the blessings in life. You never know what tomorrow may bring but keep the faith that it will all work out.  Have a blessed day!

For this card, I used the Petals and Paisleys Designer paper, the Paisleys and Posies stamp set, the Paisley Framelit dies,  and the ribbon from the ribbon trio pack…all can be found on pg 47 in the Stampin Up Holiday mini.

If you would like to purchase these products or anything else from the Stampin Up catalog, please click on the shopping cart in the right side bar.  Please use hostess code 7CZVFSKG . All online orders over $50 will get 4 hand stamped cards from me in the mail!

It’s Snowing!

Hey everyone,

It’s snowing! Well, not really….it’s really raining as the outer bands of Hurricane Matthew touch VA, but my card is snowing!

I combined 2 different stamp sets to create this beautiful snowflake card. I stamped the larger snowflake from Frosted Medallions (pg 37 in the Holiday mini) using bermuda bay ink and then I stamped the smaller snowflake from the Tin of Tags set (pg 33 in the Holiday min) using rich razzleberry ink. I sponged a little pool party in the center. Then I stamped the gorgeous grunge speckle stamp all over in bermuda bay too. I added the rhinestones for a little sparkle. Hope you like it.

If you would like to order the products for this card or any other Stampin Up products, just click on the shopping cart to the right. Please use hostesss code 7CZVFSKG . All online orders over $50 will get 4 hand stamped cards from me in the mail!
