Hey stampers,
I posted a cute gift card holder the other day (June 25th)  and had several requests for directions so I did a tutorial with the help of my daughter Lindsey….she is the hand model holding things so I could snap the pictures.

The original project was done with the Urban Oasis paper and since that is retiring today, I thought I would switch it to the new Razzleberry Lemonade designer paper. I got the original idea from a project on Shelli’s blog. It was a gift she gave to Stampin’Up employees. You can fit 2 gift cards in it or a gift card in one slot and a note in the other one.

This is the finished project and here is how you do it…..

Cut your designer series paper to 4 x 8.

Cut your cardstock in half so that it is 8 1/2 by 5 1/2.

Score the cardstock at 4 and 8 on the long side and at 2 3/4 on the short side.

Fold the flap over at the end and put your snail adhesive down that edge.

Bring the other side over and close it.

Now fold it in half from the bottom.

Leaving it folded, lay the folded piece on the edge of your top note die so that the folded edge is hanging off. You want a little more than half of it hanging off the edge. Make sure you have it centered evenly too.

Run it through with it hanging out like this.

You will be left with this cool looking edge.

Apply your snail adhesive to one side of the project and then flip it over and line it up about 1/8 inch from the top edge of your designer paper.

Now apply the adhesive to the other side and press it down (I have flipped it around in this picture)

Then I used the eyelet border punch along the top edge and then folded that over.

Tie with a ribbon and add your tag and you are all set. Super quick and easy project.

This is another one of the projects we are doing at stamp camp this weekend. I got the idea from Shelli’s blog. She had made something similar for employees at Stampin Up. It took me a while to figure out how the edges were done and then I finally realized that it is the top note die and you put your paper on the outside edge to get this kind of bracket look.

I had my shoebox swap the other day with my demo friends and this project was designed by my friend Lorrie. I am so glad she brought this one because I had been wanting to make one of these flower pot cards for a couple weeks now and just hadn’t gotten around to it. These daisies totally make it look adorable. I love the daisies #2 die for the Big Shot.  It adds pizzazz to almost any project.

Ok, can you tell that this Manhattan flower embossing folder is my favorite new toy? I just love it! I have been selling them like hotcakes too. I guess everyone else has too since they have been out of stock for 2 weeks. There are just so many things you can do with it. Here is a card that was one of the make and takes in all of my April classes. I got the original inspiration for this card from Patty Bennett.

I used the Manhattan flower impressions folder with cardstock vellum to make the front piece and then cut around the top of the flowers. The vellum piece is adhered  to the pink pirouette with snail adhesive down the left edge and then covered with the organza ribbon so you can’t see it. The sentiment is from our new Oval All set in the Occasions mini and then punched out with the large oval punch and layered onto a piece of Candy Lane dsp that was punched out using our new scallop oval punch.

This one was made using the Crazy for Cupcakes set and the Raspberry Tart dsp along with the Top Note die and the Big shot. I really did not like this paper when I first saw it but now that I have made a bunch of stuff with it, I love it!

This was Melissa’s project for our shoebox swap. I love that Fifth Avenue Floral set. The words are actually rub ons instead of a stamp.

This week’s challenge is a color one….we had to use white, vanilla, gray and black to make our card. The only problem I had was using the vanilla. I really like my card with just the white, gray and black but I did use the vanilla on the sentiment piece. I do think it would have looked better on the white though. I just love the new Manhattan flower embossing folder…..evidently everyone else does too since it is on backorder now. I sure hope Stampin Up comes up with  more of these embossing folders. I also used the Walk in the Park paper and the new oval scallop punch, Oval All set and the organza ribbon. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think . It is such a gorgeous day here in Chesapeake, VA. We have had the most awful spring weather this year  (cold and rainy) but today is a perfect 10 day (sunny and 77). I had a class this morning but then I went and sat by the pool (my 2nd favorite thing to do after stamping…LOL!) We are only a few minutes from Va Beach so I thought about going down there today too, but it was easier just to plop down in the backyard. I wish I had a convertible! I love days like this but I don’t get much stamping done, that’s for sure. So, I am going to share a couple more swap cards with you since I didn’t have time to make anything…..

This one was made by my friend Denise Johnson. I love that Daisy die cut also. How pretty.She also used the Friendly words wheel on pg. 81 in the main catalog and the Walk in the Park paper.

This one was made by my fabulous downline Sue Bjorgaard who I know will be sitting on that boat with me next year on the Stampin Up cruise. SHe is sooooo close to earning it right now. I am keeping my fingers crossed! This card uses the stampin up Bella Bleu dsp and then she textured the bottom piece using the Big Shot. She also accented it with the eyelet border punch.

Have you seen the new scalloped oval punch in the Occasions mini yet?  Besides the Big Shot dies, my favorite thing is punches and Stampin’ Up has some awesome ones. I love the new scalloped oval punch which layers perfectly with the large oval punch. Here are a couple samples with the new punch and with the Oval All set in the Occasions mini. I had a hard time not buying everything in that mini. There are such great sets this time. Stampin Up really outdid themselves.

This gorgeous card was made by my friend Christy Schroeger from Colorado. This was one of my favorites from the swap. I love how she used the punches to make the dress. It is just stunning.

This beautiful card was made by my upline Melissa Ellis. She took my new favorite Big shot die, the Manhattan flower and brayered ink on it and then put it through the Big Shot to get the saffron background. This is similar to one we are doing in my April classes. Both of these cards also use the Oval All set and the scalloped oval punch layered with the large oval punch.
