Another Vintage Vogue card

I just LOVE this stamp set.  I know as soon as you all get this set, you will go crazy over it. It is so shabby chic looking which is just my style. This card was made by my upline Faith. She always does gorgeous cards.
But unless you are a demonstrator, you will have to wait til Jan 5th to order it. Only demos can get this baby early. That is one of the MANY perks of being a Stampin Up demonstrator. If you are interested in becoming a demonstrator, just click on "Join My Team" at the top of this page. I would love to have you on my team.

New Punches are Coming Soon!

You will love the new punches that are coming out on Jan 5th! I have been having fun playing with mine the last few days!

Starting with the new 2010 Occasions Mini Catalog and continuing with all new punch designs going forward, Stampin' Up! has adopted a new body style for our punches!

A few features of the new punch style:

  • Low-profile, rectangular punch body allows for easier stacking and storing
  • Punches lock shut for easier storage and transport
  • Dual labels on top and end allow for easy identification and selection when stored
  • Available in three sizes: small, medium, and extra-large
  • New punches allow for larger punched images and more intricate designs while providing greater ease of use.
    • Extra -large punch images also allow for two-step designs like the Two-Step Bird punch in the Occasions Mini Catalog
  • Corner punches allow you to punch a corner design along the inside edges of a page, not just corners
  • larger, whole-hand handle design provides better leverage for easier use
  • Available in an exclusive Stampin' Up! color

Part of Stampin' Up!'s commitment to providing demonstrators and customers with the very best crafting tools includes the belief in what we call continuous improvement. Essentially what this means is that even if something works very well, but we see a chance to improve it, we will work to make it even better. While new punch designs will be in the new body style, existing designs will remain in the existing body style for now. We will communicate any further changes as those decisions are made.

Animal Stories

This was a swap card made by my newest downline, Lynn Wyndham. This was her very first swap and I think she did a fabulous job! I wish my first swap card had been nearly as good as this one. Lynn used the Animal Stories set and the razzleberry lemonade designer paper plus the new modern label punch and the gorgeous polka dot ribbon.

I love the new Razzle Dazzle set!

Ok, I have to admit, when I first saw this Razzle Dazzle set, I wasn’t that thrilled with it, but then I saw all of these great swaps and I am sold now. I put my order in and can’t wait to get it. Here are a couple more swaps that I got…..

This first one is from my best bud Kimberly Van Diepen. She is an AWESOME demonstrator and so creative. I constantly tell her that I wish I had half of her talent. She used the new in colors, crushed curry and melon mambo. I just LOVE it.

This one was made by one of Kimberly’s downline, Sharon Wren. She also did a fabulous job on this card. The picture really doesn’t do it justice because she embossed the whole white part with irridescent ice and it is so sparkly.  Sharon also used the new in colors and the new polka dot ribbon. I just can’t get enough of that stuff. I have already been through 3 rolls  in the last week.

More Kind and Caring Thoughts….

Stampin’ Up has really outdone themselves this year with the hostess sets. Kind and Caring Thoughts is one of my favorites and the only way to get it is to have a party of $500 or more. So let me know if you would like to get your very own set. If you don’t want to have a party, you can always get a group of friends together and just get orders. This counts just like a regular party. I recently hosted 2 swaps…one with my downline and one with a bunch of other Stampin Up friends from all over the country. I am going to be sharing some of them this week. I hope you like them as much as I do.

This one was made by one of my 2nd level downline, Tiffany Thompson. This was the first swap she ever did and I think it is FANTASTIC! I just love the colors and the layout. Great job Tiffany! She used the new Razzleberry Lemonade designer paper and the big shot, eyelet border punch, the new polka dot ribbon and more!

This next one was made by another one of my talented downline, Valerie Crouch. She used the same set, same pack of designer paper , but got a totally different look. THey are both great cards and I am so thrilled with the swaps everyone did. I will be posting lots more this week so check back daily!

Gift card holder tutorial!

Hey stampers,
I posted a cute gift card holder the other day (June 25th)  and had several requests for directions so I did a tutorial with the help of my daughter Lindsey….she is the hand model holding things so I could snap the pictures.

The original project was done with the Urban Oasis paper and since that is retiring today, I thought I would switch it to the new Razzleberry Lemonade designer paper. I got the original idea from a project on Shelli’s blog. It was a gift she gave to Stampin’Up employees. You can fit 2 gift cards in it or a gift card in one slot and a note in the other one.

This is the finished project and here is how you do it…..

Cut your designer series paper to 4 x 8.

Cut your cardstock in half so that it is 8 1/2 by 5 1/2.

Score the cardstock at 4 and 8 on the long side and at 2 3/4 on the short side.

Fold the flap over at the end and put your snail adhesive down that edge.

Bring the other side over and close it.

Now fold it in half from the bottom.

Leaving it folded, lay the folded piece on the edge of your top note die so that the folded edge is hanging off. You want a little more than half of it hanging off the edge. Make sure you have it centered evenly too.

Run it through with it hanging out like this.

You will be left with this cool looking edge.

Apply your snail adhesive to one side of the project and then flip it over and line it up about 1/8 inch from the top edge of your designer paper.

Now apply the adhesive to the other side and press it down (I have flipped it around in this picture)

Then I used the eyelet border punch along the top edge and then folded that over.

Tie with a ribbon and add your tag and you are all set. Super quick and easy project.

Sneak Peek at some new Stampin UP items!

I finally got a chance to go through my box of NEW Stampin’ Up goodies that arrived the other day and I love the new ribbons and markers in the In Colors!  Here is a picture of the new 8 1/2 by 11 textured in colors also! The polka dot ribbon is gorgeous! I can’t wait to start playing with everything. As demonstrators, we got to order these new items a month before everyone else, plus we got an additional discount on many of them. It is great being a Stampin Up demonstrator!!! That is just one of the many perks. These will be available to customers starting July 1st.
