They just look gorgeous this way, don't you think? I used the scallop trim border punch for the suede piece and the Very vintage wheel for the background.

you will need:

Cardstock: Not quite navy 5 1/2 x8 1/2 and 3x 3 1/4. Bella Bleu DSP 5 1/4 x4, very vanilla 2 3/4×3, kraft 4x 3/4. You will also need scraps of NQN, kraft and Bella Bleu for scallop circles and circles.

Punches: 1" circle, 1 1/4" circle, scallop circle and scallop trim border

Stamp sets: Vintage Vogue, well scripted

Run your scraps through the crimper so they will be easier to scrunch and work with later.

Punch out 6 scallop circles- 2 of the kraft bella bleu, 2 of the blue bella bleu, and 1 each of kraft and NQN. Also punch out 2 of each size circle (one from each of the DSP colors)

Now crumple all of the punched out circles and scallops into little balls and then flatten them back out again.

Stack them up from biggest to smallest and I alternate colors so you have blue, kraft, blue, kraft, and so on. (I actually think I goofed in this picture and have the bottom ones backwards). Then take your paper piercer and poke a hole through the center and stick a brad in there to hold them all together.

Starting scrunching your circles again from the top one down as tight as you can get them all.

When you get all of the layers done, you can gently unfold them a little bit so it looks like a blooming flower.

THen to finish making your card, Stamp the vine from Vintage vogue onto the vanilla piece and stamp your sentiment in the top corner using the NQN ink. Use the scallop trim border punch to punch along the edge of your kraft piece. Adhere this piece to the bottom of your NQN piece and trim the ends so the scallops are the same on both edges. Sponge edges of scallop border and vanilla piece with NQN ink. Wrap ribbon around the bella bleu dsp and adhere it to the NQN half sheet. Adhere the rest of the pieces and attach to front of card. The flower is attached using a dimensional.

I was cleaning my stamp room a couple of weeks ago and I found all these bags of old cards with the cardstock cut to make them. The problem is, I didn't have the stamps anymore. They were all retired. I am pretty good about making the extra cards from clubs at the end of the month but I didn't use to be. I used to take whatever was left at the end of the month, put it in a ziploc bag with the original card and planned to go back later and make them when I had time…..well 5 or 6 years later, they were still sitting there so I decided to make all of the leftover cards using the Vintage Vogue set. All I did was change the colors for each card . Here are a couple of the samples I made but there are lots more with colors I haven't used in forever.

My friend Lorrie posted a really cute card with a similar flower on the Stampin Connection site yesterday. That is an awesome website just for Stampin Up demonstrators to share ideas. It has only been active for 3 weeks and already has over 30,000 samples on there! That is just another great reason to be a Stampin Up demonstrator!

Anyway, I looked at the picture and tried to figure it out and after playing around with it for a little while (I should have just called Lorrie and asked her how to do it) I think I finally got it. I knew it was just a stack of different size circles scrunched up so I punched out 3 of each size (1 3/4, 1 3/8, 1 1/4, and 1 inch) . That was a little too much so I took a few away….so I ended up using 3 each of the bigger ones and 2 each of the smaller ones. So, I scrunched them all up and unfolded them and then poked through all of them with the paper piercer and then inserted a brad to hold them all together. Then start scrunching them back up again one by one until you get them to look like this. I did use 2 different colored patterns from the Bella Bleu designer papers to give it more depth. The vine is from my favorite set Vintage Vogue!

I needed to get my mojo going this week so I gave a try at doing the Mojo Monday sketch here. I was a little worried about the curved part but I found a great solution sitting right on my stamp table….a CD. I laid that down and traced part of the curve and it worked great. I hope you like my card.
I used the Vintage Vogue stamp set (big surprise there since it is my favorite set!)

I also used the Thoroughly Modern designer paper, our gorgeous Stampin Up polka dot ribbon, and several Stampin Up punches. The colors used are bermuda bay, soft suede and whisper white. Why don't you try the mojo sketch and see what you can come up with!
This gorgeous card was made by my upline Faith for one of my swaps. I love the red and the kraft together. You could use this one as a Valentine card or an "anytime you want to say I love you" card. I just love it.

I was having one of my stamp clubs on Saturday and a few of the girls were commenting that the faux lace technique was really a little too hard for them so one of the girls cut her strip in half and did a double layer with the crimped piece and it looked great so this method is much easier but still gives a beautiful look. So, we can credit one of my customers (Brenda S) for coming up with this easier version. I showed it to several of my other classes and about half of the girls chose the double layered look. All you have to do is take an 11 x 1 1/2 inch piece of cardstock, punch a border along one edge, run it through the crimper several times and cut it in half. Then add sticky strip to the back and tape it down kind of loosely. Then add the other half to the top of that.

Here is a close up of just the lace part. I did end up with about an inch left over on each piece so you could make it a little bit fuller if you want to.

This was the original card that we were making with the faux lace on it.
