DCBD challenge #14

By Lisa Freeman | February 11, 2009

Hey everyone,

It is Wednesday and that means it is time for another Diva’s Coffee Break Design Challenge! This week’s challenge is a color one. We had to design a card using the 4 colors listed here. Most of you know these color challenges really force me out of my comfort zone. I always seem to use the same colors for everything.  So, I hope you like what I came up with…..

I am kind of bummed because I used the new textured plate on the kraft piece  but it didn’t really show up in the picture. THe back piece is the kraft, the eyelet border piece is the pink pirouette and the flowers are done in artichoke and almost amethyst (I used the markers for that). The stamps on this card are from the Thoughts and Prayers set which is one of my new favorites. If you like the card, please leave me a comment. Don’t forget to check out the other diva designers listed in my sidebar under the coffeecups.THanks for stopping by.

Looks like you’ve got a new comfort zone Lisa, this is gorgeous! I love that stamp in these colors- and your kraft background with the white flowers around the edges is so pretty- even if we can’t see the embossed part real well!!

I really like it. I feel like you about the texturz plate. Mine didn’t show up real great either. I didn’t spritz the cardstock with water though. They say that helps the impression to work better.

Very pretty Lisa. I am gonna copy your stamp set for the challenge but am going to use the tree. Great job.

I love your card and know what you mean about using the same colours all the time…..I am quite new to card making but have already kind of settled on a theme thats ‘me’. Anyway, again love your card and even though I dont take part in many challenges I see on peoples blogs I did take part in this one as I thought the colours looked great together.
