Winner of the Blog Candy Recipe Book and another cute card.

The winner of my blog candy recipe book is Patti Barish! Congrats Patti on winning! I can’t wait to try out your recipe. Thanks to everyone who played! I will have another blog candy contest posted tomorrow!

This adorable card was designed by one of my very talented downline, Sue Bjorgaard. She brought this to my downline meeting and we all got to make it for our shoebox swap. THe envelope was made using our Big Shot scalloped envelope die and the new Candy Lane paper. This is just way too stinkin’ cute!

This is what the little card inside the envelope looks like.

DCBD challenge #10

I am sorry for missing last week’s challenge. I totally forgot to do it before I left for  Leadership. I hope this one makes up for it. This week’s challenge is a color one. We had to use these colors to make our project……

and here is what I came up with.

This is a project I am doing in all of my club’s this month.

This is the front view

and this is the side view….. my awesome friend Kimberly Van Diepen created the original design and gave me one as a gift at Leadership. I just loved it, but I wanted to change it just a little bit. Hers was a flat card design and I wanted mine to be more like a heart box of candy that you might receive for Valentine’s so I could fit more in it (I filled it with ghirardelli chocolates). To make it more 3 dimensional, I folded the side pieces in half to score them and glued the front piece to the back piece so that the side flaps actually wrap around the back a little bit.  It has 4 "humps" but you fold in 2 of them to create the bottom part of your box.   THen I stuck the brads in with the ribbon to make a handle. I used all of the colors in thechallenge…the ribbon is the vanilla color. This is made from the Big Shot petal card die.Don’t forget to check out the rest of the diva designers listed under the coffee cups in my sidebar. THanks for looking and please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

More Leadership pics and swaps….

I have so many pictures to share! I got a new camera for Christmas and I couldn’t wait to try it out….too bad it doesn’t have a button on there to make you look thinner!

This is me and my friend and sideline Debbie Naylor. She also lives in VA but about 3 hours away. I wish she was closer so we could hang out more!

Here are Kimberly, Dena, me, and Max saying goodbye right as Leadership ended. It is always hard when Stampin Up events end because I love spending time with my friends from all of the country that I have met through Stampin Up. I love meeting new friends every time I go to one of these events and then you can’t wait to see them all again next time! At least the Stampin Up Hawaii trip is only 2 months away…..better start that diet today!

One last hug from Kimberly…..

Here are more swaps from Leadership!

This one was made by my new friend Maxine Conrad who is a SAM (service account manager) at Stampin Up. She is from England and kept us laughing the whole time. She is hysterical!

This one I got from Joann Wiemers. The lid of the cupcake opens up into the inside of the card.

I just LOVE this new rooster set. It is a hostess set so I am sure lots of people will be booking parties to get one of these! This one was made by Carolyn Shelby.  She did a great job!

More Leadership pics…..

I thought I would share a few more Leadership pics and some swaps that  I got.

This is Dawn Rapsas, me and Jackie Craig hanging out before classes started.

This is me and my wonderful downline Sue getting ready to eat lunch.

This is my awesome friend Kimberly Van Diepen. She keeps me laughing hysterically every time I am around her. I wish I had half of her energy.

This is me and Robin Merriman…. she is such a sweetheart!

This is me, Kimberly, Maxine (who is a SAM at Stampin UP – she hung out with us all night and had a blast!) and of course Shelli. After we got this picture, there was a long line of people waiting to get photos with Shelli so we lucked out catching her just in time.

 Leadership Swaps!!!

This one was made by my good friend Debbie Naylor…..I just love these colors together.

This one was made by Daryl Micciche. I am so sad this set is not in the catalog!!! What were they thinking? This is one of my favorite sets (and my customers love it too)……maybe it will make it to the next one.

This one was made by Mary Beth Ada…. I don’t know why it is a little blurry but I don’t have time to take the picture over. I am still trying to catch up on laundry between posts. My family didn’t happen to get anything done while I was gone……

And last but certainly not least is my favorite swap made by my good friend Kimberly Van Diepen. This will be one of my stamp club projects this month. It is made with the Big SHot petal card die and is actually a little pouch to put some candy or a gift in.

Valentine Mailbox….look what’s inside….

I am having so much fun playing with this new Love You Much bundle….I have had a week off since Christmas to just play and make swaps for Leadership. I had a couple of these mini mailboxes left over from last year ( they were in the $$ bin at Target…my favorite store!). Anyway, I thought the Candy Lane paper would look great on one and I was right! Isn’t this adorable…..but wait…there’s more…..open the mailbox to see what is inside……

These cute little love notes fit perfectly inside the mailbox. THey are 3×3 size. I would love to do a class with these this year but I am sure Target will be sold out of them by the time I get there.  For the mailbox, I used a 4×12 sheet of DSP and made a template out of scrap paper to punch the 1/2 inch circle to go around the flag. I had to punch out a few to get it positioned just right and then I laid that one over the DSP to punch the circle and then snip it so that the paper just slides in right around your flag.  I hope that makes sense.

Raspberry Tart!

I had no idea what to do with our new Raspberry Tart DSP because I didn’t really like it for cards (it is a little on the wild side for me) so I was trying to think of a 3D project I could use with it and then I saw the box of Kit Kats in my stamp room and decided to make a bunch of them for Leadership swaps. All you have to do is cut the DSP into 4 6×6 pieces and each of these covers a full size Kit Kat perfectly. Then I crimped the ends and wrapped with our ribbons and plopped a scallop punch from our new Love You Much bundle on top and Voila! These are super easy and who doesn’t like a pretty piece of chocolate?

Here is the close up view of one of them….for the scallop, I stamped the image on pink pirouette and vanilla and punched them out. I punched out the center of the pink piece using the 3/4 inch circle punch and then cut the heart out of that piece so I didn’t have to stamp it an additional time.

More Love you Much!

I just can’t get enough of this set! I LOVE it!!! This is one I tried the crystal effects on, but it took so long to dry I decided not to do it for a class but I love the look. I copied the vase part from someone but now I can’t remember where I saw it. I loved the crystal effects and the bow though. The whole thing is stamped in riding hood red and then I colored in the vase with chocolate chip…a little too dark… I think I would use close to cocoa next time. Then I colored the whole vase in with crystal effects and actually laid the bow on there while it was still tacky so it was like glue. ***For my local customers: I am doing a stamp camp with this bundle at the end of the month and if you pre-purchase it from me before Jan. 5th, you get $15 off the stamp camp fee (normally $25)

Love you much!

I LOOOOVE this new set and the whole bundle! It is so easy to create a ton of cute samples.

For this one, I stamped the words in real red onto pink pirouette and then used the white gel pen to highlight the vase. I used the real red DSP that is in the level 1 hostess pack.  I used the scallop edge punch on the pink and then used the paper piercer to poke a hole in each scallop. I stamped the friends on the pink and messed up so had to cover that up with the word window punch! I punched out the little mini heart with the new punch too and topped it off with a little glitter!

Here is an adorable sample I made using the paper and the stamp set. The birds are actually printed on the Designer paper! I copied this idea from my upline Jill Olsen. As soon as I saw it, I just had to make it!  I used the craft knife to cut a slit in the bird’s wing and slip the heart in there.
