DCBD challenge #8

 Hey everyone,

For this week’s challenge, we didn’t have a sketch or anything….we just had to create a New Year’s card….my interpretation of that is a New Stampin’ Up Year’s card with a stamp set out of the NEW catalog! This stamp set is one that we received at Founder’s Circle a couple of months ago and I have been dying to use it so I got it out this week and played around with it. I am doing another card with it for a swap so I can’t show you that one (yet). The set is called Simple Friendship and I LOVE IT! It comes with the butterfly, the circle stamp, the true friend and some flowery stamps too. I had a ton of Urban Garden DSP so I thought I would use some of that up (just in case it retires next week). I wish they would tell us which papers were going before I made all of my Leadership swaps (this is one of them). The circle punch is our 1 3/4 inch one and I used the scallops from the pennant die to fit around it. I used baja breeze, kiwi kiss and not quite navy for the colors. I hope you like it. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Also, check out the other Divas listed under the coffee cups in my sidebar. Thanks for looking!

  1. I love this card. The urban garden paper is one of my favorites and although I love the holidays it’s nice to get back to my other stamps and papers.

  2. This is SO pretty, Lisa! I love those colors (and I’m hoping we are pretty safe with the designer papers, except the holiday ones.) Make sure to save me a swap for when I run into you at Leadership!

  3. Happy New Year, Lisa! What a great card! I love butterflies and the color combo you used is nice. LOVE your talent & especially how you share so freely:) One of my favorite thoughts is that butterflies never die – they just change stages. TFS!

  4. I just love this card. Does the butterfly stamp just like that or is it the Kiss technique?
