I Survived the Hurricane!

Hi Everyone!

What a crazy couple of days! The weathermen here on the east coast of  VA told us we were in the clear and might get a little rain from hurricane Matthew, but boy were they wrong! I guess the path changed at the last minute and came up farther north and more inland than expected and we got over 15 inches of rain in just a few hours and winds up to 80 mph! Most of us weren’t really ready for that since they pretty much said it was going to make a U-turn and head back south again.  Gotta love those weathermen. Luckily, I had already moved my patio furniture in a few days ago. I didn’t have much damage except for a few tree limbs down and a swimming pool full of leaves but I have seen lots of flooding in our area and lots of trees down and power outages. They had to cancel our church services today because of no power. Luckily I could watch good old Joel Osteen this morning to get my worship on.

So, I hope and pray that all of who were in the path of Hurricane Matthew this week are ok. I am glad that he is gone!

Now let’s get to a stamping project….

blessed

So this card really captures how I feel today….thankful, grateful, and blessed because I am alive and well and survived the storm with minimal damage. We all go through storms in life. They say you are either going into a storm, you are in a storm or you are coming out of storm in your life. I feel so blessed because I feel like I have made it through so many storms in my life and because of God, I am made stronger. No one likes going through the storms but just know that a brighter tomorrow is coming soon. It will get better. And no matter how bad your storm may be, I can bet there is someone who is going through something way worse. So, be thankful for what you have and thank God everyday for the blessings in life. You never know what tomorrow may bring but keep the faith that it will all work out.  Have a blessed day!

For this card, I used the Petals and Paisleys Designer paper, the Paisleys and Posies stamp set, the Paisley Framelit dies,  and the ribbon from the ribbon trio pack…all can be found on pg 47 in the Stampin Up Holiday mini.
