Featured Demonstrator of the month! (Part 1)

Each month I am showcasing one of my talented downline as a "featured demo of the month" and this month it is Melissa Carr!

She has only been a demonstrator for a short while but already she is doing some fantastic things including those quilt bags. She has made some unbelievable bags that I have already shown on my blog.  Here are a few of her other creative projects….

She brought all of these to our meeting last night and this was definitely my favorite one! I just loved these coasters and the box she made to put them in. She has made a ton of them for gifts and I told her she needs to sell them at craft shows.

She stamped the coasters in black stazon and then colored them using a blender pen and the craft inks. THen she baked them at 350 for 20 minutes and sprayed them with acrylic sealer.  I think they came out fantastic! Here are directions for the box

This is for a set of 4×4 inch coasters with felt feet.

Cut CS 7 ½ x 8 ¾

With 8 ¾ in. side against the top of score pad, score 3 ½ in. from each side.

With 7 ½ in. side against the top of score pad, score 1 ¾ in. from each side.

Melissa has also provided a tutorial on her own brand new blog! Check it out here!

This is a card made out of the clear window sheets that are in our catalog. I loved this card too.

THis card reminded me of the string art projects my daughter used to make all the time. I thought it was so cool looking. That is the sweet pea designer paper in the back.

I thought this card was just gorgeous and very manly looking. It looks like cracked glass but she made it using scotch tape! If you look closely at the clock, you can see the little pieces of tape all over it and then you sponge it with creamy caramel on top. How cool is that. I will post the rest of Melissa's projects in a couple days. Please leave a comment and let Melissa know what you think.

  1. I am so sorry I had to miss the meeting.  Melissa is very talented and these samples show it.  Great choice Lisa and congrats to Melissa.

  2. I could not agree more with the other two previous comments.  Melissa is tops in my opinion, but of course I would say that as she is my DAUGHTER-in-law.  She looks at something one time and can do it immediately.  I love having my own SU demonstrator at my disposal all the time!!!
